Wyden, Hooley Hold Law Enforcement Summit

Salem, OR -- U.S. Senator Ron Wyden and Rep. Darlene Hooley held a Law Enforcement Summit Aug. 19 to listen to concerns and answer questions from law enforcement representatives from around the state. Topics discussed include: federal funding for homeland security, fighting the drug epidemic and the appropriate role of the National Guard in emergency services.

Left: Marion County Sherriff Raul Ramirez gives Rep. Hooley and Sen. Wyden a tour of the Marion County Meth Lab Response Truck, which was purchased with federal funding championed by Wyden and Hooley. These specially-designed vehicles assist law enforcement officers with the dangerous job of eradicating methamphetamine labs.
