Ron Joins the Redmond Boys & Girls Club in
Welcoming New Computers, Equipment

  January 2004

Redmond, Ore. -- Ron joined Club kids, board members and staff from the Redmond Boys & Girls Club in welcoming state-of-the-art computer equipment, including the state-of-art Toshiba labtops pictured (left). The equipment was awarded to the Club as part of a grant from the Beaumont Foundation of America, which is providing more than $1 million worth of Internet-enabled, wireless computers and other equipment to underserved schools and non-profit organizations in Oregon. When the program began in early 2003, Ron worked with the Beaumont Foundation of America to encourage schools throughout Oregon to apply for the grants; he subsequently assisted in the grant process.

"With excellent partners like Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Microsoft, the success of this initiative is guaranteed. But it is the vision and leadership of Senator Wyden that opened the door to this partnership in Oregon."
--Frank Newton,
Beaumont Foundation of America President, CEO
