Newport,
OR -- In May, Ron presented
medals to the family of Bob Fisher, who earned them
for his service in World War II. Bob Fisher served aboard
the U.S.S. Arizona, and was killed in the attack on
Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 when he was only eighteen
years old.
In addition to presenting the medals —
which include the Purple Heart, World War II Victory Medal,
American Defense Service Medal, Honorable Service Lapel
Pin, Discharge Button and the Gold Star Lapel Pin —
Ron had helped the family obtain copies of Bob Fisher’s
service records, which had been damaged by fire and water
during the attack.
