Ron Meets with the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Portland Metropolitan

| Portland,
OR – In March Ron met with the board of
the Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland, whose mission
is to inspire and enable all young people, especially
those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their
full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.
The Club serves over 10,000 youth in the Portland area.
After the meeting, the board posed with
a check for $400,000, which was recently awarded for
the Hillsboro branch of the Club. The funds came from
the 2005 Appropriations Act, which Ron helped pass.
Ron also cosponsored the Boys and Girls Club Reauthorization
Act in the 108th Congress, which was signed into law
last year. The law provides funds for the creation of
an additional 300 Boys & Girls Clubs across the
country.
