Portland, OR
–
Standing in front of shelves full of various tax forms
available to the public at the Edith Green-Wendell
Wyatt federal building, Ron outlined his income tax
reform and simplification proposal, which features
a one-page
1040 form. Ron has introduced the Fair
Flat Tax Act (S. 1927), which calls
for creating a simplified tax code to benefit middle-income
Americans, collapsing the current six individual tax
brackets into three, eliminating the Alternative Minimum
Tax, and treating income earned from wages and wealth
equally.
Ron is a member of the
U.S. Senate Committee on Finance, which has primary
jurisdiction over tax law.
