Ron Speaks at the 4th Annual Oregon Economic Leadership Summit

January 2006

Portland, OR -On January 9, Ron kicked off the Fourth Annual Oregon Economic Leadership Summit, which was held in Portland. Since it was launched in 2002, the Oregon Business Plan has provided the strategic framework for Oregon's business and elected leaders — working together — to build a stronger, more competitive state economy.

In his remarks, Ron noted that over the last four years, business and elected leaders from across Oregon have joined together to implement a plan that has put the state on the path to creating quality jobs for all Oregonians. Vowing to continue the work of the Oregon Business Plan, Ron said, “Although it might be easy to say our job is done now that our economy has begun to improve, the Oregon Business Plan was never about kick-starting our economy for just a few years. We aim to make Oregon businesses competitive in a global economy for decades to come.”

Ron, who came up with the idea for the Leadership Summit early in 2002, chairs the Oregon Business Plan Leadership Committee and was an early endorser of the Plan.
