White City, OR
-- In January, Ron visited
Mountain View Elementary School to celebrate the arrival
of $65,000 in state-of-the-art computer equipment, a
grant from the Beaumont Foundation of America. The technology
includes laptop computers with wireless Internet access,
printers and digital cameras.
When the program began
in early 2003, Ron worked with the Beaumont Foundation
of America to encourage schools throughout Oregon to
apply for the grants. The Beaumont Foundation of America’s
core purpose is to grant computer hardware to Americans
who do not have access to the Internet, and to collaborate
with existing successful organizations to provide the
technical support to utilize it. For more information,

“This
is the path to high-skill, high wage jobs. If you think
about what youngsters need to know today, you always
come back to technology. Technology should be a cornerstone
of education”

U.S. Senator Ron Wyden
