Washington, D.C., October 2nd – Congressman Jim Moran, Virginia Democrat, received a 100 percent perfect rating from the American Association of University Women (AAUW) in their recently released 109th Congressional Voting Record.
The AAUW is a bipartisan organization comprising more then 100,000 members. The votes highlighted were selected by the AAUW membership at their 2005 National Convention. Priority issues reflected in the voting record are education, budget and appropriations, civil and reproductive rights, and economic security.
“The issues that the AAUW cares about are issues of shared concern,” said Moran. “Educating our children, budgeting for the future, protecting civil and reproductive rights and ensuring America thrives economically are the keys to fostering a progressive, enlightened and prosperous society.”
“On behalf of the more than 100,000 bipartisan members of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), as well as the members in Virginia, I want to thank Rep. Moran for his 100 percent rating in our recently published AAUW Congressional Voting Record," said Lisa Maatz, AAUW director of public policy and government relations. "We appreciate his consistent support for AAUW’s priority issues throughout the 109th Congress, including his support for vocational education and increasing student aid.”
