· Congressman Moran was named by the Information Technology Industry Council as "High Tech Legislator of the Year" and inducted into the American Electronics Association’s Hall of Fame. He has been a champion in Congress on technology and trade issues. His efforts have earned him the endorsement of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
· Moran has been a lead cosponsor of numerous technology measures involving Y2K litigation relief, H1B visas, employee stock option protections, and information security. He also understands that we cannot maximize our IT potential by ignoring 90 percent of the world’s consumers, which is why he has been a leading proponent of free trade.
· As a pro-trade, New Democrat, Representative Moran is supportive of free trade principles, but not without adequate safeguards protecting international labor, human rights, and environmental standards. (Rep. Moran was one of three founding members of the House New Democrat Coalition, which was established in 1997 to provide moderate, pro-growth, Members of Congress the opportunity to advance a common-sense policy agenda that will move our country in the right direction.)
