REP. SCOTT WORKS WITH HAMPTON OFFICIALS TO ASSIST HAMPTON VICTIMS OF TROPICAL STORM ERNESTO

(Washington D.C.)- Congressman Robert C. "Bobby" Scott (D-VA-03) will host a meeting for Hampton constituents whose apartments suffered severe water damage from Tropical Storm Ernesto two weeks ago. Hampton City officials will be at the meeting to work with Rep. Scott to assist the displaced families and answer any questions they may have.

"We need to help these people as quickly as possibly as they put their lives back together, "said Rep. Scott.

Many of the residents affected by the storm in Hampton attended last week’s meeting held in Newport News. However, only city officials from Newport News were at last week’s meeting and many of the Hampton residents requested another meeting to hear directly from officials from the City of Hampton.

The meeting will be held Monday, September 18, 2006, at 6:30 p.m. at Francis Mallory Elementary School, at 331 Big Bethel Road, Hampton, VA 23666.
