RYAN PRAISES PRESIDENT'S STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS

Wisconsin's First District Congressman Paul Ryan made the following statement regarding the President's State of the Union address this evening:

"The President showed the kind of leadership and determination that he has demonstrated time and again over the past year.  It's clear that he is listening to Americans, knows what their big concerns are, and is determined to work with both Republicans and Democrats to tackle the challenges ahead."

"I have spent this month driving around Southern Wisconsin and hearing from constituents on the same issues the President emphasized in his speech: creating jobs and rebuilding our economy, winning the war on terrorism, and protecting our homeland from a range of threats – new and old.  I'm looking forward to working with the President and my colleagues to achieve these goals."

"And I agree with the President that part of strengthening our economy means addressing related issues like education and health care – particularly fixing Medicare for all seniors. We need to make sure all Americans have access to a good education and affordable, high quality health care."
