Counterfeit Auto Parts
These are two seemingly identical oil filters. The packaging is nearly identical. The counterfeit product can only be detected when the product is opened.
This is the inside of a genuine oil filter. Notice the volume and quality of the filtering materials.
This is the cross-section of the counterfeit oil filter. Compare the construction and materials to the genuine product shown previously.
This is a connecting arm for a Ford vehicle. This part connects the front of the car to the frame. The counterfeit product is made from low quality metal and is prone to metal fatigue, cracking and failure. Failure and normal or high speeds would be extremely dangerous. The counterfeit is only distinguishable by the stamp "Food" instead of Ford.
The packaging on these spark plug wire sets is nearly identical. The counterfeit product uses substandard gauge wire and substandard insulation and may pose a fire risk.
