The Cannon building is located on Independence Avenue in southeast Washington directly across from the Capitol building.
METRO
The Metro subway system is an inexpensive, convenient way to get around in Washington. Fares vary depending on destination, time and day.  My office is located at the Capitol South Metro stop on the Orange and Blue lines.
ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY
Open daily October through March from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and April through September from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Amphitheater, the Custis-Lee Mansion and the graves of Presidents John F. Kennedy and William Howard Taft. The Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier occurs every hour on the hour and every half hour in the summer months. BOTANIC GARDEN

Located at the corner of Independence Avenue and 1st Street SW.  Various botanical art exhibits on display. Open 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Group tours are available with advance reservations. Phone: (202) 226-4082.

BUREAU OF ENGRAVING AND PRINTING
Located at 14th and C Streets, SW.  See how U.S. currency is printed.  Forty minute tours leave every fifteen minutes from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Free tickets are mandatory for entry and are disbursed on Raoul Wallenberg Street starting at 8:00 a.m.  Phone: (202) 874-3019.  Metro Stop: Smithsonian.
CORCORAN GALLERY OF ART
Located at 17th Street and New York Avenue NW, Corcoran Gallery of Art is open Monday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Thursday evenings until 9:00 p.m. Closed Tuesdays and some holidays.
DUMBARTON OAKS
1703 32nd Street, NW Gardens open daily from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Museum open Tuesday through Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Both are closed on Federal holidays. FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION
The FBI is not open to the public since the tragedy of 9/11.

FORD'S THEATRE AND LINCOLN MUSEUM

GEORGETOWN

 

The oldest section of Washington is home to many attractions, including the C&O Canal National Historic Park. From April to September, the National Park Service operates mule-pulled canal boats along the canal from both Georgetown and nearby Great Falls, MD. HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL MUSEUM
Open daily except December 25th and Yom Kippur from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The museum is located at 100 Raoul Wallenberg Place, SW, near the corner of 14th Street and Independence Avenue. Admission to the permanent exhibition “The Holocaust” requires a timed-entry pass. Advance passes for the exhibition can be reserved. JEFFERSON MEMORIAL
South bank of the Tidal Basin. Open 8:00 a.m. to 12 midnight. You can rent paddleboats to cruise the basin at the Swan Boathouse. Phone: (202) 426-6841.
JOHN F. KENNEDY CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS
Regular tours are conducted by Volunteer Friends of the Kennedy Center Monday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Visitors should go to the Tour Lounge located on Parking Level A. Congressional tours are conducted at 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9:30 a.m. on Saturdays. Contact our office for tickets. The Kennedy Center phone number is (202) 416-8000. KOREAN WAR VETERAN'S MEMORIAL
Located on the Mall near the Lincoln Memorial. Open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. (excluding December 25). Phone (202) 426-6841. Metro Stop: Foggy Bottom.
  LAW ENFORCEMENT MEMORIAL

 

Located on E Street between 4th and 5th Streets. The memorial is open year round, 24 hours a day. The visitor center is located two blocks away and is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

LIBRARY OF CONGRESS
Jefferson Building, located opposite the U.S. Capitol near the corner of 1st Street and Independence Avenue, SE. Home of President George Washington. NATIONAL ARCHIVES
Located on Constitution Avenue between 7th and 9th Streets, NW. The original Constitution, Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence and Magna Carta are on display. NATIONAL GALLERY OF ART
Located on the National Mall on Constitution Avenue between 3rd and 9th Streets, NW. The main building and I.M. Pei’s magnificent East Building house the nation’s art treasures and are connected by an underground concourse. Open 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sundays. OCTAGON HOUSE
Located at 18th and New York Avenue, N.W. Architectural exhibits. The Octagon House served as James Madison's White House following the destruction of the real White House by the British in 1814. The Treaty of Ghent was signed there, ending the War of 1812. Open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Phone: (202) 638-3221.
PENTAGON
Located across the 14th Street Bridge in Virginia. The Pentagon no longer gives public tours sine the tragedy of 9/11.

SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION

          It is the world's largest museum complex. Composed of sixteen           museums and galleries, as well as the National Zoo, the exhibitions           offer visitors a glimpse into its vast collection numbering over 142           million objects. Hours:  The museums are open daily, except           Christmas, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Extended summer hours           are determined annually.
         

STATE DEPARTMENT

SUPREME COURT

First Street and Maryland Avenue, N.E. The nation’s highest judicial body meets in this building. Open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Public lectures are conducted in the courtroom from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., every hour on the half hour when the court is not in session. Phone: (202) 479-3000.

TOURMOBILE SERVICE

U.S. NAVAL OBSERVATORY

VIETNAM VETERANS MEMORIAL
Near the Lincoln Memorial.  Henry Bacon Drive and Constitution Avenue, N.W.  Always open. Designed by a 21-year-old Yale student whose design was selected in a national competition. Constructed of black granite to honor all Americans who served in the Vietnam War. As a special tribute to those who did not return, the names of more than 58,000 who gave their lives or who remain missing are inscribed in the Memorial's walls. THE WHITE HOUSE
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. The White House is open for public tours by reservation only. It is often closed for official events and applicants for tour tickets must undergo a background check, so please allow 3-6 months prior to your arrival in Washington. Please call the Minnetonka office to reserve tickets.

  WOLF TRAP PARK FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS

Virginia Route 7, near Vienna, VA. The nation’s first national park for the performing arts offers opera, symphony music, pop concerts, rock, folk, jazz, and ballet. Concerts are given all winter in the Barn, which has 3,500 indoor seats. The Filene Center has approximately 7,000 indoor/outdoor seats. Phone: (703) 255-1800.
