Congressman Weller’s office is always accepting resumes from college
students interested in interning for academic credit at his Joliet and
Washington, D.C. offices. By assisting the Congressman’s district
staff, interns have the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge about
how a Congressional office provides constituent services, interacts
with the community and serves as a liaison to Congressman Weller’s
Washington, D.C. office. Interns in the Washington, D.C. office will
have an opportunity to learn about the legislative process and the
federal government by working closely with the legislative and
communications staff members. Candidates who are chosen for
the Washington, D.C. office may be responsible for paying their travel
and living expenses. While both internships are unpaid, interns in
either office may receive academic credit for their work. Congressman
Weller’s intern program is open to all area college students,
regardless of major. Candidates interested in our D.C. office should
contact Lisa Radogno at (202) 225-3635. Candidates interested in our
Joliet district office should contact Patty Cowman at (815) 740-2028.
