Internship Program
Letter from Chairman McKeon
Dear Student:
I appreciate your interest in the internship
opportunities sponsored by the Committee on Education and the Workforce.
The purpose of an internship is to provide research and practical
experience on a wide variety of education and workplace policy issues
under the jurisdiction of the Committee. (For more information on the
issues of the Committee and Subcommittees visit our Members
and Jurisdiction web page). Applicants must be enrolled in an
institution of higher learning and may be able to receive academic credit
for their internship. Positions are available during the spring, summer,
and fall.
During an internship, students will attend House and Senate meetings,
prepare summaries and reports, provide research on current legislation
before the Committee, answer phones, and perform computer work,
photocopying, faxing, and errands. Students will be assigned to and be
supervised by staff professionals and the Intern Coordinator.
My goal is to make the internship a challenging and rewarding
experience. I hope this information is beneficial in your pursuit of an
internship. Please browse through the information contained on this
site. For additional information contact:
