Additional Information for Reserves, Natioanal Guard, and Military Personnel

 

Congress has acted to provide special protections for those called to active duty.   Click on the link below to go to fact sheets concerning the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Civil Relief Act of 1940 (SSCRA) and the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA).

Congress is also working on legislation that will greatly benefit reservists, National Guard, and military personnel. Please follow the links to the proposed legislation and its status.

 

To ensure that a Federal employee who takes leave without pay in order to perform service as a member of the uniformed services or member of the National Guard shall continue to receive pay in an amount which, when taken together with the pay and allowances such individual is receiving for such service, will be no less than the basic pay such individual would then be receiving if no interruption in employment had occurred.   Click here to go to text and status of bill.
