Congressman Pitts Announces $6.5 Million Grant for Luther House Expansion

Washington – Congressman Joe Pitts (R, PA-16) announced today that Luther House, a provider of affordable independent living apartments for seniors, has been awarded a $6,553,400 grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to expand their facilities.

“Luther House provides a wonderful service to seniors in our area, and I was glad to help them secure the funding needed to grow,” Congressman Pitts said.  “Luther House’s lengthy waiting list is a testament to the quality of the care it provides, and I look forward to seeing them expand their positive impact on the community.”

Background

Located in West Grove, Luther House provides affordable independent living apartments for seniors in the community.  Luther House currently has 212 apartments available to seniors, but they continue to maintain a waiting list for new residents.  This HUD grant will go toward the construction of a new facility that will contain 44 new units.

Congressman Pitts supported Luther House’s efforts to secure the competitive HUD grant.
