Rep. Petri Receives Alaska Conservation Award

WASHINGTON -- U.S. Rep. Tom Petri received an award Wednesday from the Alaska Coalition in recognition of his "outstanding leadership to protect Alaska's wild places."

Representing the Coalition were former U.S. Rep. Tom Evans of Delaware and Janet Moldenhauer of Oshkosh, WI.

"We're giving this to Congressman Petri for his tremendous work in preservation and conservation," said Evans. "He has been a real friend of the wilderness, he preserves very critical habitat areas, and we need more like him in Congress."

The Alaska Coalition is a network of conservation, sporting, labor and religious groups that work to keep Alaska's habitat protected for future generations.
