Washington, D.C. – House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement on the Federal Election Commission's new rule on political activity on the Internet:

“I am pleased that the FEC’s action fulfills the intent of Congress by protecting individuals and the media and should eliminate the need for any further congressional action. As both the blogging community and the reform community have noted, the new regulation provides more protection for blogging activity than H.R. 1606, without opening up new loopholes in campaign finance law.”
