Congratulates the
Fifth Avenue Committee on Federal Grant
$97,000 has been allocated through the efforts of Congressman Owens
for the Center for Community Development
BROOKLYN, NY. (January 8, 2005) – Through the efforts of Congressman Major
Owens the Fifth Avenue Committee (FAC) will receive $97,000 from the Department
of Housing and Urban Development for a new computer lab for its Center for
Community Development. The funds will be dispersed to the Fifth Avenue Committee
over the coming year.
“I am happy to have played a role in securing these fund that will help
strengthen the quality of educational programming to the people of the 11th
Congressional District. The FAC has been a beacon of light to the district and
over the years has provided invaluable service in a short period of time. These
funds will help to continue the kind of outstanding programming that FAC is
noted for," Owens said.
