Rep. Tom Osborne Congratulates Shelton Residents as the

2006 Recipients of the Angels in Adoption Award

Washington, D.C.— Nebraska Third District Representative Tom Osborne is pleased to announce the 2006 Angels in Adoption award recipients from the Third District, Jim and Kathy Hunter of Shelton.

“Jim and Kathy’s loving commitment to making a difference in the lives of children makes them well-deserving recipients of the Angels in Adoption award. They have opened their hearts to three children in need of a loving place to call home. Jim and Kathy are deserving of this prestigious award and are truly angels in adoption.”

Jim and Kathy have four grown daughters and seven grandchildren. They have adopted three foster children who are between the ages of 12 and 16, Ella, Michael, and Shawn. Having been adopted last month, Ella who is Michael’s biological sibling is the most recent addition to the family. Jim is a carpenter and Kathy is a special education teacher at Grand Island High School.

As part of the 2006 Angels in Adoption Campaign, the Congressional Coalition presented awards to this year’s Adoption Angels at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. in September.  Rep. Osborne presented Jim and Kathy with their award in Grand Island today.
