Committee on Government Reform

The Government Reform Committee is responsible for ensuring the government runs efficiently and works to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse. The Government Reform Committee differs in many ways from other committees of the House because it oversees the entire government. The committee has seven subcommittees with jurisdictions ranging from national security and international relations to information technology and government efficiency. The committee also has jurisdiction over the District of Columbia. The decisions of this committee can affect the delivery of the mail, the pay of civil servants, and the regulatory power of the federal government.
