Committee on Appropriations
The House Appropriations Committee is responsible for funding the Federal government. While two-thirds of Federal funding goes to pay for programs like Social Security, Medicare, and interest payments on the national debt, the remainder is subject to annual appropriations by Congress. Organized into thirteen subcommittees, the most of any full committee, the Appropriations Committee keeps our government running by providing the people of America with the services they need.
