Committee on Standards of Official Conduct

The Committee on Standards of Official Conduct investigates allegations against a Member, officer, or employee of the House of Representatives. The committee makes sure that House Members and staff file financial disclosures and adhere to the ethics rules of the House. The committee makes certain that Members accept gifts only when permissible and under the prescribed value, and enforces standards so that members and staff do not engage in campaign-related activities on government time.
