Committee on Agriculture

The House Agriculture Committee has jurisdiction over more than just farms and ranches. The Agriculture Committee has oversight over broad issues that impact Americans not only in the heartland, but from coast to coast. The committee authorizes the Farm Bill, which helps support the farming sector of our economy, and promotes agricultural trade and research. The committee also oversees programs to protect the safety of the food we eat to make certain those living in poverty have access to meals. The committee also has a broader role in our nation's economy, overseeing rural economic programs and commodity trading. From research labs, to wheat fields, the Agriculture Committee plays a role in the well-being of virtually every American.
