Homeland Security
As a new member of the House Committee on Homeland Security, Ginny has taken an active
role in the Committee deliberations as they work to shape America's
domestic preparedness and security future. With jurisdiction over the Department of Homeland Security, Ginny is working with the
Committee to take an active role in helping ensure that our borders are safe
and secure from foreign threats.
As a Florida State Senator,
Ginny served as Chairman of the Florida Senate’s Select Committee on Public
Security and Crisis following September 11, 2001. She brings a great
amount of emergency preparedness and investigative experience to the Committee
and will use Florida's
actions and accomplishments from the immediate post-9/11 period as well as
their response to natural disasters that hit Florida's shores and harm local
communities.
