Welcome to Washington!
Following the events of September 11, 2001, our nation's Capital has undergone significant changes, and it continues to be a challenging time for all of us. New security measures have been set in place impacting the accessibility of area attractions. Parking is very limited, and public transportation is encouraged. Security screening at federal buildings, monuments, and museums prohibit the following items: aerosol/non-aerosol sprays, food/beverages, oversized bags of any kind, knives of any length, razors, box cutters, mace, and pepper spray. While some of these changes may be of inconvenience to you, I am confident that these new measures will help to ensure a safe and enjoyable visit to our nation's Capital.

  • Online Tour Request Form

I am pleased to arrange Congressional tours of the following attractions:

  • Federal Bureau of Investigation (Summer Months Only)
  • Bureau of Engraving and Printing
  • State Department
  • Kennedy Center
  • Supreme Court
  • Library of Congress
  • U.S. Capitol

Feel free to stop by my office to pick up passes to the House and Senate galleries to observe debate on the floor of Congress. In the House, children under 10 are allowed in the gallery if accompanied by an adult.  Children must be six years old to be admitted to the Senate gallery.

General public tours of the White House and Pentagon have been cancelled indefinitely. However, school groups, veterans' organizations, active military units, and youth organizations are being accommodated on a first come-first serve basis. Requests for all tours must be received at least 3 months in advance of your visit.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

There is no admission charge for most of the monuments and museums, but come prepared for a lot of walking. Parking in Washington is very limited.  Taxis, buses, and the MetroRail subway are available every day for transportation to Capitol Hill and the various attractions.  The Metro is a safe and affordable way to get around town.  The closest Metro stop to the U.S. Capitol is "Capitol South".
