North Korea Agrees to Resume Six Party Talks

Washington, DC - Representative Tom Price (GA-06-R) issued the following statement today after North Korea agreed to return to the six-nation talks on their nuclear weapons program.

“This latest news out of North Korea is encouraging,” Price said. “With the leadership of the United States and this Administration the United Nations was convinced to impose appropriate sanctions. I encourage North Korea to recognize how important it is that they work with their neighbors and the rest of the world to find a peaceful solution. The recent behavior by the North Korean regime is unacceptable.”

“The United States must remain steadfast in our commitment to an open and serious dialogue between North Korea and the global community. Appeasement or hesitant behavior on our part will only encourage defiance by Kim Jong-Il.”
