As a former small business owner, I recognize both the important role small businesses play in our economy and the broad universe of challenges that small business owners face in trying to make ends meet.  

 

The federal government should be doing more to reduce taxes and unnecessary regulations that hamper small business growth. I was a chief author of the Truth-in-Regulating Act, which provided a new way for the federal government to review the impact of proposed regulations on small businesses before they take effect.
