Service Academy Nominations

Congressman McNulty is authorized to nominate individuals to each of the following military colleges: the United State Military Academy at West Point, the United States Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis , and the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point.  Outstanding young men and women from the 21st Congressional district who are interested in a career as an officer in the Army, Air Force, Navy, or Marine Corps should apply for nomination during their Junior year of High School.

Note: Students interested in attending the United States Coast Guard Academy do not require Congressional nominations.

Additionally, please include the following pieces of information: Please note that the selection interviews generally take place in January of the year prior to entering the Academy.  As a result, applications must be received no later than November 24th to be considered.

In addition to Congressman McNulty, young men and women in the 21st Congressional District are eligible and encouraged to apply for nominations from Senator Charles Schumer, Senator Hillary Clinton, and Vice President Dick Cheney. Present Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard service members, and ROTC cadets and midshipmen are also eligible for nominations from their branch of service, and should consult with their chain of command for information. The children of active duty service members and the children of Medallists of Honor may be eligible for Presidential nomination, and should consult with the individual academy for details.

Students who are interested in becoming military officers should also consider the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC).  This program offers scholarships to civilian colleges for students pursuing military commissions.  For more information, you can contact:
