Pelosi Nominates Millender-McDonald for Ranking Member of House Administration Committee

Washington, D.C. – House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi today announced that she would nominate Congresswoman Juanita Millender-McDonald of California to serve as Ranking Member of the House Administration Committee.

“I am pleased to submit Juanita Millender-McDonald’s name to the Democratic Steering Committee,” Pelosi said. “She will be a powerful and passionate voice on the Committee for federal election reform.  She will make an outstanding Ranking Member, and future Chair, of the Committee.”

"I want to thank Leader Pelosi and my Democratic colleagues for their confidence in my leadership ability,” Millender-McDonald said.  “I am honored to lead our Democratic members on the Committee on House Administration and I look forward to working closely with Chairman Ney."

The previous Ranking Member, Congressman John Larson of Connecticut, was named to the Ways and Means Committee.  "John Larson served with distinction on the House Administration Committee, fighting to improve our election process and the security of the Capitol, and for the orderly operation of the House.  I was proud to nominate him to the Ways and Means Committee," Pelosi said.

The House Administration Committee has legislative and oversight responsibility for federal elections, the House of Representatives, the Library of Congress, and the Smithsonian Institution.
