Pelosi: 'Supreme Court Ruled in Favor of the People’s Interest, Not the Special Interests'

Washington, D.C. -- House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today following the Supreme Court's decision to uphold key provisions of the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2002:

"The Supreme Court today ruled in favor of the people’s interest, not the special interests. Accountability is vital to our democracy. This decision sends a clear message to the special interests and the Republican leaders who cater to them that they must stop corrupting our political process.

"Today's decision will help restore confidence in the political process and level the playing field so that the American people can participate and be heard."
