Pelosi Statement on Indian Transit Attacks
Washington, D.C. – House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement in response to the terrorist attacks in Mumbai:
"The attacks on the transit system in Mumbai were despicable, and Americans share the sorrow of the families of those killed and injured, and know that what has been lost can never be replaced. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those who have suffered as a result of these cowardly acts.
"The Mumbai bombings are a reminder of the global challenge posed by terrorism, a challenge that can only be met by an effective international response. The people of the United States stand with the people of India, and with peace-loving people everywhere, who abhor the tactics of terrorists and resolve to work cooperatively to defeat terrorism wherever it exists."
