Pelosi Congratulates Young Americans on Record Volunteerism
Washington, D.C. – House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today on news reports that a record number of college graduates are applying to volunteer service organizations.
"Young Americans volunteering in record numbers for programs such as Teach for America, the Peace Corps, and AmeriCorps are to be commended. Young Americans recognize that becoming civically engaged and helping those in need makes a difference in our country.
"Young Americans are volunteering and voting in record numbers. Hopefully, all Americans will follow the example set by this generation and know their power to make a difference and turnout in record numbers for this year’s election."
