Pelosi Statement on the Passing of Evy Dubrow

Washington, D.C.– House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement on the death of union leader Evy Dubrow:

“With the death of Evy Dubrow, America’s workers have lost one of their greatest and most effective champions.  For more than the last 60 years, Evy worked on the frontlines to advance the causes of America’s workers, particularly women and minorities.  Almost every victory for workers in our country – from pay equity, to increases in the minimum wage, and the creation of family and medical leave – has her fingerprints on it.  Though Evy was small in stature, she was truly a giant among us – both revered and feared on Capitol Hill.

“As workers across the country face consistent threats to their hard-won rights, we must bring to these struggles the tenacity, organization, and unflagging resolve of Evy Dubrow.

“I hope it is a comfort to the many who love Evy that so many people share their loss and are praying for them at this sad time.”
