Pelosi Statement on Death of Former Congressman Lucien Blackwell

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi issued the following statement today on the death of former Congressman Lucien Blackwell (D-Penn.):

"On behalf of my family and my constituents, I offer my heartfelt condolences to the family of one of our beloved colleagues, Lucien Blackwell, who died today.

"All of his former colleagues in Congress will miss Lou's passion and commitment, which he demonstrated every day he served here. It is the same passion he had when he served the people of Philadelphia as a member of the City Council and in the State Legislature. He was a dedicated public servant who fought relentlessly for the rights of workers.

"I want to extend my deepest sympathies to his lovely wife and family."
