Pelosi Meets with King Abdullah of Jordan

Washington, D.C. – House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today following a meeting with House Democrats and King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of Jordan this morning:

“It was an honor to welcome King Abdullah of Jordan to the Capitol and hear his thoughts on the crucial issues confronting the Middle East. Jordan and the United States are close allies, and we will continue to be as we move forward in our quest for peace in the region.

“King Abdullah provided keen insight into the challenges facing the Middle East. From the consequences of the recent electoral success by Hamas to the training of Iraqi forces, Jordan’s continued involvement and assistance will be of great importance to the future of the Middle East.”
