Pelosi Statement on Death of William Jennings Bryan Dorn

Washington D.C. – House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today on the death of former Congressman William Jennings Bryan Dorn of South Carolina:

β€œIt is with sadness and respect that I extend my deepest condolences to the family and friends of William Jennings Bryan Dorn. As a soldier and legislator, he spent much of his life in service to our country. Many of those years were spent in the U. S. House of Representatives, where his legacy as Chairman of the Veterans Affairs Committee lives on to this day. He was second to none in serving his constituents and state, but he had a vision of America, along with the oratory to inspire, which made his years in the House not only productive but memorable.

β€œI hope that it is a comfort to his family that so many people share their loss and extend their sympathy, and at the same time, recall the many things that Bryan Dorn meant to them.”
