Congressmen Jim McGovern (D-MA) and Barney Frank (D-MA) today urged Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff to examine an important new report on the risks associated with the siting of Liquefied Natural Gas terminals in populated areas. The letter also states that the Congressmen will request a meeting with Secretary Chertoff on this issue.
The report, "LNG Facilities in Urban Areas," was prepared by counterterrorism expert Richard Clarke, who has served in both Republican and Democratic Administrations.
