 Though President Bush signed the Safe Port Act today, Rep. Ed Markey (D-MA), a senior member of the House Homeland Security Committee, highlighted that even after months of work on legislation that was supposed to close security loopholes, the bill is still missing essential provisions to screen 100% of all US-bound cargo, to check for hazardous material or nuclear bombs.
