Matheson Statement on Secretary Rumsfeld's Resignation

Salt Lake City, UT-Congressman Jim Matheson issued the following statement in reaction to the news of Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's resignation today:

"The time has come for this to happen.  We need a fresh approach to deal with the difficult circumstance we face in Iraq.  New leadership provides the opportunity for an honest assessment of what has worked and what has not worked in that country.  We all want to achieve a successful outcome that includes some stability in Iraq and the soonest possible homecoming for U.S. troops," said Matheson
