Washington County Growth & Conservation Act of 2006

Senator Bob Bennett and I have introduced legislation to address the rapid growth in Washington County through comprehensive land management and responsible conservation initiatives.

The Washington County Growth & Conservation Act of 2006 is based on data offered and gathered by the working group, following more than a year and a half of discussions among local citizens and government entities. This legislation also incorporates hundreds of comments representing numerous points of view, which I sought when the draft proposal was unveiled.

The public input has resulted in what I believe is significant progress in the effort to balance protection of public land with the needs of the fastest-growing county in the United States.
