No one should be forced to choose between paying their bills and having health insurance. But that's exactly what happens for far too many hard-working families.

Health insurance costs for employers have been rising by 10 percent per year since 2000, causing businesses to hire fewer workers and forcing too many families to go without insurance.

That's why I support legislation that would allow small businesses from across the country to pool together to purchase health coverage for workers at lower rates and why I support expanding medical savings accounts to give workers more control over their health care insurance and costs.  I also support legislation that would stop the frivolous and excessive lawsuits against doctors and hospitals that drive up insurance costs for workers and businesses alike.
