Committees

Judiciary
The Committee on the Judiciary has been called the lawyer for the House of Representatives because of its jurisdiction over matters relating to the administration of justice in Federal courts, administrative bodies, and law enforcement agencies. Its infrequent but important role in impeachment proceedings has also brought it much attention.

International Relations

Republican Policy Committee
The Policy Committee is comprised of the elected and appointed Republican Leadership; the chairmen of five key committees (Appropriations, Budget, Commerce, Rules, and Ways and Means); Representatives elected from each of the Nation's regions; three Representatives elected by the two newest classes of Members; and at-large members appointed by the Speaker.
