Social Security once succeeded in providing America’s seniors with guaranteed, stable and adequate retirement benefits, but it is no longer the reliable and efficient program it was intended to be.  Hard-working men and women used to pay into Social Security with confidence that the program would sustain them in their retirement years—but a different reality exists for today’s workers.

Today, younger workers are investing thousands of dollars in Social Security with little hope they’ll reap the benefits of their investment.  Social Security has become a tax burden instead of a promise for the future.  We must update Social Security to meet 21^st Century realities.  Without reform, Social Security will continue down the path to debt and ultimate bankruptcy.
