National Association of Manufacturers Honors Congressman Garrett with Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence

Washington, Oct 17 -

The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) has honored Congressman Scott Garrett with the Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence, for voting in the best interest of the manufacturing economy.

“Manufacturing is an important contributor to both New Jersey’s economy and to the country’s,” said Garrett. “I have been focused, during my time in Congress, on promoting policies which are friendly to business and encourage re-investment back into the market and promote economic growth. The tremendous growth we have seen in the U.S. economy, with low unemployment and high hourly compensation, consumer spending, and levels of production, is encouraging and has been positive proof that these policies have been working.”

NAM President John Engler said, “Garrett’s voting record shows a true understanding of the key role manufacturing plays in the strength of our economy and our quality of life. Taken together, these key votes are critical to boosting American competitiveness, job creation and prosperity for working Americans. I thank Representative Garrett for his steady dedication to the economic growth agenda of the manufacturing community.”

Congressman Garrett hosted a roundtable in September with local manufacturing company executives and managers to discuss the importance of manufacturing in today’s economy and its future.

The National Association of Manufacturers is the largest industrial trade association in the country, representing manufacturers in of various sizes in all states.
