Automatic Tax Increases (10/16/06)
The RSC updated its annual document to reflect the passage of the Tax Increase Prevention and Reconciliation Act (Public Law 109-222). This document highlights tax increases that will automatically happen, unless Congress takes action to stop them.

House conservatives express opposition to federal minimum wage increase (9/25/06)
41 House conservatives sent this letter to House Leadership, expressing categorical opposition to bringing stand-alone legislation to the House floor this year that would increase the federal minimum wage.

Shays-Meehan campaign finance regulation bill (4/3/2006)
In light of the House's scheduled consideration of the next Shays-Meehan campaign finance regulation bill (H.R. 513) this week, the RSC released the following two documents:
This document highlights the major similarities and differences between citizens advocacy groups known as "527s" and those known as "501(c)4s."
This document highlights examples of well-funded entities that will continue to play large roles in campaign finance if 527s cease to function.

Lobbying Accountability and Transparency Act (3/27/06)
The RSC released an early summary and analysis of the Lobbying Accountability and Transparency Act (H.R. 4975), which is House Leadership's lobbying reform and campaign finance reform package.  The bill has not yet been scheduled for House floor consideration.  Click here to read the RSC document.

RSC Balanced Budget Released (3/08/06)
The RSC introduced a balanced budget based on the 1995 “Contract With America."

Supplemental Appropriations Budget Requested (3/03/06)
Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-TX), on behalf of the RSC, sent this letter to Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director Josh Bolten, requesting a detailed accounting of how the supplemental appropriations already provided for the War on Terror and Gulf Coast hurricane relief have been spent.

The President’s fiscal year 2007 budget request includes a new domestic policy initiative, the American Competitiveness Initiative (ACI), which is a combination of new and expanded federal education programs focusing on math and science instruction and increased funding for scientific research and development.  Learn more about ACI in this RSC Policy Brief.
