Following the 2000 census, the boundaries, and the number, of the congressional district I represent have changed.  I now represent Michigan's Ninth Congressional District, which encompasses all or part of Auburn Hills, Berkley, Beverly Hills, Bingham Farms, Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Township, Clawson, Farmington Hills, Farmington, Franklin, Keego Harbor, Lake Angelus, Oakland Township, Orchard Lake, Orion Township, Pontiac, Rochester Hills, Rochester, Royal Oak, Sylvan Lake, Troy, Waterford, and West Bloomfield Township.

I look forward to the opportunities and challenges of representing the 22 cities and townships of the Ninth District.  Some I have not represented before and some I have represented since 1992, but all will receive the attention, the service, and the open door that my constituents deserve.

The 108^th Congress has many important issues before it, from improving the economy, adding a prescription drug benefit to Medicare, and passing a comprehensive national energy policy to the war in Iraq, homeland security, and North Korea.  I look forward to working with President Bush and my colleagues in Congress on these and other issues to make the United States a safer and stronger country.
