Cardin Says USTR Case On China Autos Must Be First Of Many

Administration should work with Congress to level playing field for American workers and businesses

WASHINGTON -- Today the United States Trade Representative (USTR) announced the filing of a case against unfair Chinese tariffs on imported auto parts.  U.S. Rep. Benjamin L. Cardin, the senior Democrat on the Ways and Means Trade Subcommittee issued the following statement commending USTR for this decision and urging further action:

“I am pleased USTR has filed this case and I trust it will be the first of many in coming months,” said Rep. Cardin.”  “We all know American workers and businesses can compete with anyone in the world if given a level playing field and we need to stand together to remove unfair and illegal barriers to trade across all sectors of the economy.”
