My internship program is open to college students, regardless of major. The Washington and District offices accept interns for the fall, spring and summer terms. Applications accepted on a rolling basis. Successful candidates will be highly motivated, team-oriented individual with excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Strong academic achievement, experience and ties to Indiana are a plus.

Internships in Washington D.C.

Interns in the Washington, D.C. office will have an opportunity to learn about the legislative process and the federal government by working closely with the legislative, communications and constituent services staff members. Duties include greeting visitors, answering telephones, constituent correspondence, legislative research and providing other needed support for staff. Candidates chosen for the Washington, D.C. office are responsible for paying their travel and living expenses.

Internships in the District

By assisting the Congressman’s district staff, interns have the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge about how a Congressional office provides constituent services, interacts with the community. There are district offices located in Bloomington, Jasper, Jeffersonville, Seymour and Versailles.
